本课为黄海鸥老师执教的人教版高一阅读课 A Pioneer for All People。

步骤1: Greetings and Lead-in.(5’)

Teacher asks the students one question: “Do you have a dream? What is your dream?”, leading the students to talk about their dreams and answer the question. The teacher continue to say: “Please look at the picture on the screen. Do you know who he is? Yes, he is Yuan Longping. He is commonly called “The Father of Hybrid Rice”. Do you want to know more about his dream? Do you want to know why is he entitled “A pioneer for all people”? Today, we’ll learn Book 4 Unit 2 “a pioneer for all people.”            

设计意图:利用贴近生活的问题导入新课,吸引学生注意,激发学生学习课文的兴趣。

步骤2:Skimming and scanning. (6’)

The teacher asks the students to read the text by themselves and answer the questions on the screen:

  1. What does the text mainly talk about?
  2. Match the general ideas with the right paragraphs.

设计意图体现自主探究,以学生为主体的课改意识。

培养学生具体问题具体分析的能力和归纳概括能力。

步骤3:Close reading. (18’)

The teacher asks the students to listen to the tape carefully, then fill in the blanks. If there are any questions, they can cooperate with each other.

The students read the passage and then answer the questions.

The first dream: Produce a kind of rice that could feed more people. (super hybrid rice)

The second dream: To export his rice so that it can be grown all over the world.

设计意图:了解袁教授的梦想,学习他心系天下苍生的奉献精神。

步骤4:Show relative audio material and discussion. (9’)

Students have discussions aboutWhat kind of person is Yuan Longping? What should we learn from Dr.Yuan?

设计意图:培养学生合作精神,提高英语口语应用能力,同时学习袁隆平无私奉献的伟大精神。

步骤5:Sum up and assign the homework. (2’)

The students summarize what they have learned through the mind map.

Teacher evaluates and assigns the homework.

设计意图:教师引导学生思考并通过看板书总结本课所学。
